Season’s Greetings!
Happy Holidays! Whether you are celebrating this week, or not, especially if you are in Europe, or the Americas, it would be difficult not to miss all the celebrations that are happening around you.
This is a short post – just in case you need any last minute inspiration for some tasty additions to your festivities. I have included a new very easy recipe which is especially good if you have any left over bits of puff pastry.
Festive Recipes
Here are a few great recipes which are especially good for the festivities:
Plant based sausage rolls: A plant-based version of sausage rolls that are quick to make and always popular.
Vegetarian mini wellingtons: Great as a standby main, or for buffet snacks.
Mince Pies: Delicious pastry recipe for those perfect flaky mince pies.
Ginger Cookies: Crisp, spiced biscuits, great for decorating.
Biscoff Brownies: Ever popular recipe and most requested!
Yule Log: Easier than you think impressive chocolatey dessert.

The Cheese Straws Recipe
A very simple idea to use up any scraps of pastry. Of course, you can just make a batch with fresh pastry too! If you are making sausage rolls, this is a quick and simple way to avoid any food waste.
Grab your bits of puff pastry – ends, strips, cut-offs, any shapes or odd pieces can be used. Place them on greaseproof paper, then simply sprinkle with nutritional yeast and black pepper. Gently press the powders in, then leave as they are, or twist into shapes. You can add a bit of chilli, herbs such as rosemary or Italian mix, or even add a bit of grated (plant-based) cheese on top too. Bake at Gas Mark 6 (400f / 200c) for 8-12 minutes (depending on the size, shape & quantity).

What do I need?
Hopefully you already have everything you need for this recipe, but in case you’re new to baking and cooking, or just want a refresh, here are a few items you might like. These links will take you straight to Amazon where you can then search as usual for anything you need. If you follow these links, Amazon might pay us a small commission, which goes towards paying the website hosting fees. We’d be very grateful if you do, thank you! Have a look at these: chopping boards, kitchen knives, mixing bowls, baking trays and other items which you might need. Much appreciated!
Serving
Serve your festive foods as part of a buffet, a brunch, snacks, desserts or just as picky bits! Add your favourite drinks, lots of festive cheer and enjoy!
Storing
Remember to store all your festive foods safely. Label and date foods and cover with foil or silicon lids, if not in sealed containers. Try to eat sensibly too to avoid mixing too many different foods if you are not used to it and eat until you are comfortable… you can eat the leftovers another day if you need to!
Sharing
I hope you will have a wonderful festive period and share lots of lovely foods with others.
