Take Time!
This post is written for me! But also for one of my best friends. Also, of course it is written for you! We are already a good way through January – the month where people make a whole host of New Years Resolutions, set plans for the whole year, spend money on new interests in the sales (gym membership? new workout gear? a kitchen gadget you unboxed and left – hello juicer?) and then get worn out before the year has begun.
Maybe you have bundles of energy after your long rest over the festive season and possibly you have embraced this with enthusiasm, going on a daily walk, starting couch to 5k, swimming twice a week or attending new exercise classes. Although, maybe you have been so wrapped up in everyday life and sorting out everyone else, you have forgotten to rest and recharge yourself.
This is your message to stop. B r e a t h e. Have a break. Say no! (try it)! Sit with a book. Have an extra long bubble bath. Even put your phone in airplane mode (I dare you!). Take some time JUST FOR YOU!

Blue Monday
This coming week – Monday 19th January 2026 is Blue Monday. A relatively new event which is allegedly the most depressing day of the year according to the weather, festive spending debt, failed new years resolutions, the amount of (or lack of) daylight and general motivation. So, I challenge you to turn the tables on this day! Plan something now! A coffee date with a friend, a walk in a new place (the seaside is calling)!, an evening out, dress up in your favourite going out clothes, a special meal at home, bake some brownies, or cheese scones, anything which will create a positive memory on this Blue Monday!

What do I need?
Get yourself prepared before Blue Monday creeps up on you! If you still have spare money, have a look on Amazon where you can then search as usual for anything you need. How about some nice chocolates, or even a tin of chocolates to share, a new notebook, some colourful pens, or even update your cake plates?
