Love yourself in 2023!

Get ready!

The new year is coming! Now is the time to think about your plans, your life and moving forward. 2022 is almost over and I for one am looking forward to what lies ahead!

Planning.

It is time to plan for the future! Your future! Yes, I will add in the fail to plan, is planning to fail! Of course, many people will start thinking about New Years Resolutions, but I think that focusing on what you want to do, or want to achieve will keep you motivated more.

Assess.

Before you can plan for the future, you need to look where you are. I would use the past year (2022) and write a list of your achievements. Maybe you learnt a new skill; got a promotion or a new job; perhaps you decorated your bedroom; or emptied the loft? Did you get married; have a baby; pass an exam; buy a new car or re-arrange your home filing system? Perhaps you had a more specific list that you worked to- reducing waste; using less plastic; composting more; saving more pennies? All the things you did add up to make one long list of achievements! Get a piece of paper and write them down. You can do it in bits as you remember, adding to it each day, or write it all in one go. It’s your list and it will help you with your plans for next year!

Start small

I would advise starting your list with something easy to action which you can plan straight away. How about finally catching up with that old friend of yours? Put it on the list then contact them to arrange. Of course, you might want to phone or meet up with more than one, or, arrange more regular times. Next, you could add somewhere you want to visit or a place you want to go and put it in the diary. You can choose easy things you’d do anyway, or extra things you need to plan and make time for. Either way, once you’ve achieved them, you can tick them off your list!

Add to your list

Of course, everyone will have very different plans and priorities so your list is personal to you. Again, you can write it in one go, or add to it as the ideas surface. Go with big plans or keep it small.
