coffee and cake

Cake, cake and more cake! Support a Macmillan Coffee Morning.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

If you are in the UK, you are probably aware that the end of September is always when Macmillan Cancer Support host their coffee morning weekend. If you’ve been following this blog for a while, you will know that it has become an annual event for us.

You can check out our 2020 Macmillan coffee morning here, or our 2019 coffee event here. Last year was an extra special event as we had just lost my Mum to cancer, this year we have just lost my Auntie.

The Cake Recipes

That is always the question… what to bake! To bake it or fake it?

Since last year, there are a couple of new cake recipes on here – these red velvet cupcakes were amazing and a traditional Victoria Sandwich is a great crowd pleaser.

As there are already recipes for all types of cake on here, and biscuits too, I will leave you checking out any you may have missed, rather than adding another one!

What do I need?

If you are new to cooking or your kitchen needs a refresh, here are a few useful things for baking. I receive a small commission if you click and purchase through these links (this is at no additional cost to you)!

You can serve your cakes, bakes, cookies and pastries to your friends and family. Add some coffee, tea, juice or something stronger and enjoy!

Ideally store your cakes in an airtight container – this is more important for things you want to keep crisp. If you are using fresh cream, then please store in the fridge and only get out when serving. Most cakes, bakes and biscuits can be frozen (check individual recipes for more details). Defrost any items in the fridge.

I hope you can find a Macmillan Coffee Morning to attend this year… or maybe you are hosting one of your own. If you’d like me to eat a piece of cake on your behalf… you can donate through my link here!

I love seeing your adaptions and interpretations of my recipes so if you have any photos please tag me @LifeDietHealth or using #LifeDietHealth on InstagramPinterest,  Facebook or Twitter.

What do you think I am baking for tomorrow?!

I hope to speak with you soon
