Five Minute Flat Bread
Today is one of those waiting days! Waiting to see how one of best friends gets on! 🙂 Do you know how long each minute appears to be when you’re waiting! I keep looking at the clock but the time is never more than a minute since I last looked! I only have to wait another hour or so now! 🙂 Maybe I should go and bake something whilst I’m waiting! Maybe, I should go and make some more of this bread to stockpile in the fridge… because we’ve finished the last two lots already! Maybe I should think about tomorrow, Valentines Day 😛 as I’ve not really given the actual day much thought yet aside from experimenting with my Valentines menu! 🙂 Maybe I should sort out my list of ‘things to do’ which is on my desk?! What do you do when you’re waiting to find the result of something? Gather
- 50g millet flakes (this also works with porridge oats ground into flour)
- 50ml boiling water
- pinch of salt
- 10g sesame seeds (can be omitted if you really don’t like them but it makes it even tastier)
- coconut oil for cooking (plus half a teaspoon if required in the bread)
Prepare
- This is so quick and easy! Put the millet in a bowl, add the salt. Pour in the bowling water (you can add half a teaspoon of coconut oil to the water at this stage if you wish but its not really necessary) and stir with a spoon to combine.
- Add the sesame seeds (if using), mix in well and gather together.
- Divide into four and roll a piece into a ball. Flatten in your palm until half a cm thick (or less if you can).
- Heat a small amount of coconut oil in a pan and add the flatbread. Cook for a minute on one side and flip over. Press down on the bread with a spatula and let cook on the other side. Cook until golden brown on both sides. Repeat with the remaining pieces.
- This can be eaten immediately or this can be popped in the toaster (or under the grill) when required.
- Enjoy!
Serve & Store
- One of the reasons I’ve posted this is because I have some great recipes that this flatbread is just perfect for!
- Toast it. Spread it. Eat it.
- Fill it. Top it. Sandwich it. Eat it.
- Tear it. Mop it… for those tasty sauces.
- Store in the fridge for 2-3 days and reheat in the toaster when required.
