Fresh fruit abundance… in Croatia!!!
Many of you will have read about all of the photos which I lost 🙁 and unfortunately most of them appear irretrievable! I guess those recipes will have to wait until I have the time and energy to redo them! 🙁 and I’ll have to use bought produce instead of fresh garden produce (our courgettes, strawberries and cherries were so yummy)!
Anyway, as it’s the school holiday season in UK and we though ahead whilst prices were still low 🙂 I am saying hello from VERY hot and sunny Croatia! 😀 I did think of making you guess where I was but that I think would have been much too difficult! We haven’t been here long but already we have seen dramatic scenery, gushing waterfalls and majestic mountains.
Driving from the capital towards the coast, street sellers sat at the roadside under giant umbrellas with strings of garlic – smoked and plain, tomatoes, cobs of corn, multi-coloured grapes, watermelons and giant red apples. Once nearer the coast and away from the open mountain roads we discovered plump plums, juicy cherries, fresh almonds and sweet ripe soft sticky figs! Yesterday I think all we all ate was fresh fruit and vegetables!!! Delicious!
No recipe today but I’ll leave you with a few Croatian dishes we’ve experienced so far. Enjoy the holidays… off to the beach now! 😀
WOW! The food you’ve had in Croatia so far looks so FRESH and delicious! All that fruit looks SO SO SO good!
Enjoy your vacation!

Thanks Ellie 🙂 It’s so lovely to be somewhere where fruit (& veg) is enjoyed by everyone all the time! UK has its ‘5-a-day’ which sadly most people don’t meet! 🙁 I guess the weather helps and the fact that the fruit doesn’t cost more than a bottle of water! 🙂 That and the fact that you’re not bombarded with chocolate, sweets, crisps and ice-cream everywhere you look! 😛 🙂
SO true!
Oh, you were in the neighborhood! 🙂 Delicious looking food and fruity lunch sound awesome! 🙂
Yes Milica… in your neighbourhood again! 😛 🙂 Apparently there is a raw restaurant here too!
