Happy Earth Day… What are you doing?

Each year, 22nd April is classed as ‘Earth Day‘! 🌍

What? I hear you ask is Earth Day? Why do we need an Earth Day? What is it for? What can I do?

Basically, Earth Day is to encourage everyone to take action on the environment and climate change. This affects everyone and we can all do our part in different ways. Being more eco-friendly in our purchasing and choosing alternatives to plastics and harsh chemicals. Thinking about what we do with our litter – recycling or reducing where possible. Considering the impact of our food and growing our own produce or buying locally, seasonally and loose products. Sharing leftover food or letting others have our unwanted items on platforms such as Olio and so much more!

Where can I find more ideas?

To give you a few ideas, here is a fabulous guide which you can download for free which has been produced specifically for Earth Day 2021.

A few recipes to try

Of course, reducing your meat intake is also another way to help reduce carbon dioxide emissions and other greenhouse gases. Here are a few tasty recipe ideas!

Meat free burgers
Vegetarian Sausages
Vegetarian Bolognese
Meat Free Casserole

Product ideas

If you wanted to try some eco-friendly products but are wondering where to start, here are a few items which I use and love. The links here will take you to Amazon, and if you purchase through the link, I will receive a small commission which helps with my website upkeep (it costs no more than you buying from Amazon yourself)! Thank you! 💖

Hopefully this has given you a bit more to think about and several things to do! Make some delicious plant based food, download the Olio app and help save food going to waste, reduce your plastic use and look for alternatives and enjoy the nature that this wonderful world provides!
